I think unless you have super thick hair, the pics you have would be high maintenance, you know lots of spray and back combing. I would just do short and maybe a tad layered depending on how thick your hair is. And side bangs are going out because everybody has them. I would do straight across bangs or no bangs at all.

I have a round face, and I got a short haircut that I guess could be called emo. It was up to my chin. I ended up not liking it and getting clip-on hair extentions. For us round-faced people, short hair doesn't look that great. But if you're set on it, I suggest getting some kind of fringey bangs or something to make it look more awesome. Thats what I did. It suits you! Maybe try getting layers in your hair - if you like the sound of this, then go ahead. Have it "razored" at the salon and the back is short, so you can ruffle it up and texturize it with wax or styling gel. You'd suit the fringe long and more to one side. Light blonde would look good - even the medium blonde would look nice. I'm not sure if this was what you were asking for, lol!

lets see..I have some friends that are emo and they mostly wear tight jeans/pants. Also some black, but not too much, it's emo, not goth. Band t-shirts are good. Like Hawthorne Heights. For makeup just some eyeliner. And also put some fake cuts on your wrists. And part your hair to the side so its covering one eye

oh my god, don't listen to these people! the only reason you should wear major eyeliner and chains and stuff is if you are in a rock band or going to a rock concert.....or a dark/goth club and you don't sound old enough to go to a club....looking goth and wearing SOME of the clothes from hot topic is cute, but overkill will just make you look stupid.... trust me....i have a 16 year old sister and i care about her...and if you were her i would say the same thing! don't try so hard to look a certain way....it will show...people will see how hard you are trying with your layers of makeup and your clothes all weird and think that you are desperate for attention.

use a lot of eyeliner and mascara. if you want you can put on some black lipstick too. and ask your mom if you can die your hair black w/ blonde or red streaks. if not then ask her if you can just have the red streaks. no blonde streads w/ brown hair cuz youll look preppy. then where black band shirts or those other tight shirts that you get at hot topic. (it depends how you dress: baggy or tight) then get some tight black jeans or baggy w/ chains. not too much chains. OR you could just wear regular jeans. hmm i guess thats it. GOOD LUCK

one word EYELINER all of my emo friends swear by it. get some nice black or charcoal eyeliner and line all around your eye. make sure ur bags cover up 1 eye thats ultimate emo! and for ur clothes go out an buy some skinny jeans! also go to hot topic ( i love that store) and get some sweaters and tees. they also have some interesting eyeliners there too. they have crazy colors like sparkly green.

I think this is a cry out for help. If you are depressed you need to talk to you parents about getting professional help. Changing your appearance won't improve your self-esteem and holding all your emotions will make it worse because you'll feel like you have no one to talk to that will understand you.

oh my god, don't listen to these people! the only reason you should wear major eyeliner and chains and stuff is if you are in a rock band or going to a rock concert.....or a dark/goth club and you don't sound old enough to go to a club....looking goth and wearing SOME of the clothes from hot topic is cute, but overkill will just make you look stupid.... trust me....i have a 16 year old sister and i care about her...and if you were her i would say the same thing! don't try so hard to look a certain way....it will show...people will see how hard you are trying with your layers of makeup and your clothes all weird and think that you are desperate for attention.

use a lot of eyeliner and mascara. if you want you can put on some black lipstick too. and ask your mom if you can die your hair black w/ blonde or red streaks. if not then ask her if you can just have the red streaks. no blonde streads w/ brown hair cuz youll look preppy. then where black band shirts or those other tight shirts that you get at hot topic. (it depends how you dress: baggy or tight) then get some tight black jeans or baggy w/ chains. not too much chains. OR you could just wear regular jeans. hmm i guess thats it. GOOD LUCK

one word EYELINER all of my emo friends swear by it. get some nice black or charcoal eyeliner and line all around your eye. make sure ur bags cover up 1 eye thats ultimate emo! and for ur clothes go out an buy some skinny jeans! also go to hot topic ( i love that store) and get some sweaters and tees. they also have some interesting eyeliners there too. they have crazy colors like sparkly green.

I'm considering dying my hair a very dark brown or black. My hair is naturally dark blonde/light brown, and I am very pale. Is it possible for me to do this and not be termed a "goth" or "emo" nowadays?

Well if you're going from blonde to black, it will be very very difficult to go back to blonde without damaging your hair. Make sure you REALLY want that hair color. Plus, black hair makes anyone look pale no matter how tan you are...my friend and I are cosmetology students and we think that you should experiment and color your "underneathe" darker and then gradually get more and more just to see if thats what you really want.

People and friends tell me I look "gothic" sometimes but I really don't care what they think. I love it and that's good enough for me!

I'm growing out hair and I want to layer it into that scene-ish mullet. How to, and what's

I'm growing my hair out now, and I'm looking to get it eventually shaped into the mullet-type thing that has been getting more and more in style these days. It more prominent on scene kids or "emo"... whatever. I'm just trying to find out what it's actually called so that when I go the haircutters, they don't look at me as if I'm the biggest redneck they've ever met. That's NOT the kind of cut I want, I want te one that Aaron Gillespie from Underoath kind of USED to have. Is it just super-layered long hair? I want those rattail things.

Bleaching over dyed hair that has been bleached?

I've been bleaching/lightening my hair for a year. It is blond. I went nutz and put semi-permanent pink in (brand: Jazzing) which rinses out progressively each time. However I think the cuticle is pretty open so the color is sticking.

So when I want to go back to blond I"ll get some dye remover. thats easy.

You can see the black roots. I want to bleach the roots but naturally I will get some bleach on the hair with dye in it. Will there be a reaction? I can test spot but I figure I"d ask. Keep in mind the hair is bleached, then dyed with semi-perm pink, and the problem is the effect of more bleach on it. I just want the roots done but theres no way of not getting it anywhere else. Im bleaching to turn it pink again, altho i might try fire red.

When I bleach I condition well and dont wash for 2 days prior... tnx

Be careful. I'd look it up, you don't want to break your hair off. Though I'm sure it's different with every hair type. My friend bleached hers like 3 times in 2 or something weeks and it's fine. Mine however, would just break off.

My hair is a similar colour (magenta) and I've bleached mine from almost black too. Most of my hair is knackered, to be honest, from where I've bleached out previous dyes prior to the pink, but the top part is fine. Naturally, I overlap when I bleach my roots, but it doesn't do any damage to it. I'm no hairdresser though so it might be different for your hair. I'd wait a bit if I were you before bleaching your roots so it's easier not to re-bleach too much hair. I try to go a month if I can before re-dying it.

I have a round face, and I got a short haircut that I guess could be called emo. It was up to my chin. I ended up not liking it and getting clip-on hair extentions. For us round-faced people, short hair doesn't look that great. But if you're set on it, I suggest getting some kind of fringey bangs or something to make it look more awesome. Thats what I did. Be careful. I'd look it up, you don't want to break your hair off. Though I'm sure it's different with every hair type. My friend bleached hers like 3 times in 2 or something weeks and it's fine. Mine however, would just break off.

My hair is a similar colour (magenta) and I've bleached mine from almost black too. Most of my hair is knackered, to be honest, from where I've bleached out previous dyes prior to the pink, but the top part is fine. Naturally, I overlap when I bleach my roots, but it doesn't do any damage to it. I'm no hairdresser though so it might be different for your hair. I'd wait a bit if I were you before bleaching your roots so it's easier not to re-bleach too much hair. I try to go a month if I can before re-dying it.

Manic Panic hairdye should have that colour. You can usually buy it from places like Hot Topic or just a haircare store. Otherwise, you might have to go to the hairstylist to buy some, or have them put the colour in your hair.

But you won't be able to find a permanent dye of it, unfortunately. But they shouldn't cost too much; so you'll just have to use "colour protect" shampoos etc.

Mango is wrong. Crazy colors do come in permanent. Try N'Rage. It bleaches AND dyes at the same time.

It suits you! Maybe try getting layers in your hair - if you like the sound of this, then go ahead. Have it "razored" at the salon and the back is short, so you can ruffle it up and texturize it with wax or styling gel. You'd suit the fringe long and more to one side. Light blonde would look good - even the medium blonde would look nice. I'm not sure if this was what you were asking for, lol!

If you wanted to try straightening it every day, I suggest you go to a salon and have your hair cut and styled so you can understand how to do it yourself. The best straightener is a CHI, it is great for keeping your hair straight all day, even curly and coarse hair. The CHI is about $100-$200, but the second best straightener which is a lot cheaper, is a Pro Tools one, about $40-$50.

Well if you're going from blonde to black, it will be very very difficult to go back to blonde without damaging your hair. Make sure you REALLY want that hair color. Plus, black hair makes anyone look pale no matter how tan you are...my friend and I are cosmetology students and we think that you should experiment and color your "underneathe" darker and then gradually get more and more just to see if thats what you really want.
